Percentage

          This round in math class was so amazing because I can learn what I want to learn. The percentage is very important that everyone should understand how it’s working and ways that we can figure out the percentage of a number of something. We deeply focused on a lot of interesting strategies about finding Percentage in different ways that the problem gives. We also have a test on this lesson and I did so well on the test and I think that I have shown a lot of improvement with this lesson which is percentage. We will be using a lot of percentage with our daily life including discount and many more. After this lesson end, we also learn about Angle. Angle is when to line met together at one point.

Coding in Python

          Python is one of the programming languages for the computer. In Multimedia/Technology we have learned a lot of Python language and practicing coding as our assignment. I never learned Python or even any of the programming language yet, but after this learning round, I was so interested in computer science including Python. There are a lot of things that we learned from Cindy(Multimedia/Technology facilitator) such as Booleans, Comparisons, Indentation, If statement, Eif statement, Ese statement, And, Or, Not, etc. Every week we always have the assignment as we have learned a lesson. I was having a lot of struggles during many assignments. One of the hardest assignment that I get so stressed about it is finding the prime number. On the day that Cindy teaching us about the lesson that related about finding the prime number, I was on a trip for my exploration and it was so hard for me as my brain thinking too much solution to find the prime number. I was asking my friends and asking them to help me and explain to me include giving me some clue on the assignment. Badly I wasn’t understand anything that my friends told me. I go on the internet and search for the prime number. There is a website load on the top and give me the definition of prime number. I read the definition and I understood how to find the prime number and luckily I can solve the assignment. I was so happy and excited about solving this really hard coding assignment. Here is my code to find the prime number.

Lab Report | STEM

+ Ingredients:

  • Baking soda  
  • Sugar
  • Sand
  • Alcohol
  • lighter/etc that can make fire…
  • zippo lighter fluid(we  didn’t use it actually, but it is fine if you use it) 

+ Instruction:

          First, we have a ratio of baking soda and sugar is 1 to 4. Mix the baking soda and sugar together then. We do need a cup of sand and first of all, we have to put the alcohol all over the sand and next, we will have to put the mixture of baking soda and sugar as a mount on the sand. After that, we should put some more alcohol on the mixture of baking soda and sugar. Lastly, we have to light up on the sand that fills with alcohol and the chemical reaction will happen.

+ Reaction report:

          After we burn it for a few seconds, we will see some black things growing up and making some kind of smell(the smell isn’t bad!). The black things or we can call it fire snake started to grow slowly and taller.

+ After reaction:

          We took that fire snake and it was almost like some kind of dust, but it is harder then dust. We can hold it and it was big and my hands become black after touching the fire snake.

+ How did that happen in my opinion?

          When the mixture of baking soda and sugar burn, the baking soda gets hot and it will release carbon dioxide gas. The pressure from the CO² gas will pushes and form the black thing or fire snake.

Khan Challenge

On Thursday 31st January, Samantha had assigned us to research one of the topics that related to Pre-algebra course in Khan Academy. After we choose our topic, we have to teach that topic to our teams. I was really interested in a topic related to adding a negative number.   

negative numbers from 1 to 4

When we add negative numbers and negative numbers together, the number won’t get a bigger number, but the number is started to decrease as we add a negative number together. Let’s say that we start the number from Zero. When we talk about positive numbers, it will go to the right count from Zero and a negative number will go to the left from Zero. If we add a negative number together just like we have negative 2 plus with negative 2 it will become negative 4. We already have negative 2  that count from Zero to the left and if we add another negative 2 which mean that we have added two number to the left and it will become negative 4.

Experiment

This round in STEM class, we have been doing a lot of experiments during the class. One of the experiment that I love and I wanted to share with you is putting mentos into coke. I usually see them tasting and doing this experiment in youtube, but during this class I can see how it work and see it in my eyes clearly. I never think that chemical reaction is realy, but after I’d learn STEM for entier of hours, I can change of lot of things that I thought crazily before and making a real process of understanding of science work.

Outdoor Leadership Exploration

Outdoor Leadership is a really interesting exploration to learn as life experience. On the first day of learning in this class, I found out an answer to a question that I never think of before and the question “What does nature mean to me?” and this is what I wrote: 

My feeling less Max with stress, 

My heart got mess all around, 

I dream I’m drown in a nightmare, 

Stress is what I needed to share, 

On one would dare they will take, 

Expressing mind blind my fear, 

Anything that near cheer their happiness, 

I ask them how you don’t have stress? 

They said we express to nature, 

Relax is all meaning to me, 

If feeling free to me it’s nature,

Don’t you understand my bro and sister, 

Stressful won’t occur forever on one, 

Nature means to me is relaxing, 

Stress that coming won’t exist, 

Viewing all days may at least, Relax and breathe that the meaning.

This is a poem that written by me and I was so impressed that I could find out the answer to this question. This is exploration we also having trips that going outdoor. I spend those time wisely, because I didn’t want to leave all of those nature, all of those beautiful trees and waterfall and that trip have connected me with nature really well. Below will be all of my reflection from the trips and please take it seriously as you read along my words:

On thursday, an exploration called Outdoor Leadership have leaving the Liger campus to Kirirom National Park in Kampong Speu province. All of the stuffs set and everyone are good for the night. We went to a waterfall called the first waterfall. Quietly see the dark cloup that flying around the water. It was raining today and the nature are moisture with the wind blowing their leaves. Many people are visiting this place and most of them are playing with water and having fun together. The waterfall was great and peaceful and the water are flowing around, some of them are flowing between rocks and some are not. Water was really cold that it can make me freeze, even there is sunlight but the wind just defeat their strongness and the day become really cold. Along the road we can see a lot of pine tree and insects over there. It’s really tired to hike, but nature just release tiredness all from me. An earthworm that as big as a snake is incredible, but I saw two of those. It’s big and long and they look a little bit scary when their body stuck with dust. If watching waterfall all day it could by my passion and all the thing around I could imagine more than it does. This trip make me feel a lot of fun and along tired, but it can’t gave me up.

Argumentative Essay

On the second round of the year 2018-2019 in the Liger Leadership Academy, we are having a really cool topic for this round to be learning about. Our theme for this round is about argumentative essay which we will be writing an essay that can be augmenting. In a essay, we need to have the Hook, Background Information, Idea Development & Support(sources) and Conclusion at last. I have been working so hard on this essay because to finish this essay, it might take me a lot of time in order to make this essay perfectly. My topic that I chosen is about gender equality. This topic is very stressful for me but because of my interested it prevent me a way to get out of my comfort zone. I have found out that gender equality is a really interesting topic for me to write it out. Even though I haven’t finish this essay yet, but you will see it in the next post which is the post after round three.

Environment Injustice/Pollution

We been learning about Environment Injustice/Pollution and we also having the reflection after this lesson and these are the words that I would want to share with you all:

          Air pollution is still a problem that most of the place have. Burning plastic is a really huge cause of air pollution. In my community there are a lot of trash bin and people are starting to keep their trash until there is a lot of trash and they burn it once. There was one day that a lot of kid get sick because of breathing the polluted air into their body and after that many of the villager are starting to reduce using place and burning plastic. Even Though they do that but there still a lot of plastic got burn and used. Many kids got polluted by the environment and it is unjust for them. When the technology growing higher pollution in the world are also grow as high as technology. Even some of the organization that already know what have happened in my community, they haven’t care about that yet. To stop this problem in my community, wee all together must have to stop burning plastic first after we stop using plastic instead.

          Water pollution is a really huge pollution exist in Cambodia. Many people are throwing trash into the water, many boats and ship are transporting oil from place to place and when the oil spills into the ocean or water resources many fish and living organism in the water will died property. Ocean is one of my favorite place to visit and many tourism are also like to hangout along the beach. If the sea’s water isn’t clean and contain a lot of trash and oil and many fish died over there do you think that they want to come and see again? No ways. When the tourist are getting low in that place people who make the business near that dirty ocean such as seller and many more businesses, their economic will getting lower and lower as the tourist getting low too.
